There are several reasons why it could do that. Incompatible or bad RAM, processor overheating, or bad power supply.

It appears like your processor fan (heatsink) isn't functioning, without this the processor is overheating very without delay and then it shuts all the way down to avert more suitable harm to the processor. Open up the computer and verify that its spinning once you turn the computer on. you should in simple terms try reset the settings first. this would nicely be performed by eliminating the little circle cellular battery discovered on the motherboard and then replacing it after a jiffy. Plug each thing decrease back in and take a inspect. If this does no longer artwork, a clean processor heatsink will be mandatory.

Could be any number of things. Most notably it could be a heat issue.
Check to make sure the heatsink is connected to the processor properly.
If it is then check every other connection to insure that they are seated properly.
If it still does it then you are going to want to try out different components one by one to isolate the culprit. It is best to start just barebones, processor, memory, video card and power supply. If it works then just add components one by one, testing it every time.

There could also be a short. Or someone may have flip;ed the switch on the back of the PSU to say 240V in stead of 120V. All of the other answers are possible causes, too.

It is probably something to do with the connection between your computer and the power supply. Or if it is an old computer, it may have just conked out. E- mail me if you want more info.

Is it a laptop, is the battery fully charged?
Is it completely shutting down or just going into a hibernate or standby mode? If it's just going to hibernate or standby you can change the settings to have it not do that.
