When i turned on my monitor today i noticed horizontal lines flickering. I haven't changed any settings, it just started randomly. It's a 19 in Balance lcd monitor, ive had it for about 2 years. my pc has a athlon 64 3300+, sapphire radeon x800gto 256MB, XP home SP2. I tried rebooting and adjusting the refresh rates with no progress. A couple times the monitor would go black, not turn off, for a sec then come back on. The flickering lines have decreased in # but i still see one every 10-15 seconds. I checked my connections. I haven't had any issues like this so far. Could it be a power issue? or is my monitor taking a dump on me? Any help, tips, solutions would be appreciated.

I have a Dell Dimension E510 with a 17" Ultrasharp Digital Flat Panel monitor. Does anyone own the same? I hear a lot of snapping or crackling noises coming from the monitor while it is on and especially when I turn it off. At first I thought it was because it was cooling down, but I still hear the snapping hours later. Is this normal or do I have a problem? I still am under warranty. If I return it, I'm afraid I might get a reburbished one, which I have heard can and does happen. Thanks for any suggestions or comments!!

I remember reading somewhere what the best settings for your Monitor were to reduce eyestrain? Does anyone know what they are?

I know refresh rate should be higher and you should look down at your monitor... any others??

I was playing a game last night and my computer froze...I rebooted several times and couldnt make it past the windows xp loading screen. Then after about the 3rd reboot I get a black mark on the corner of the screen and a mostly white screen with some blue lines...it does look like the screen is broken...but I never touched the screen...and there is no physical damage on the outside of the screen...what else could it be? or is my screen broken?

I have the new MacBook that I got for Christmas, but the thing is I have really, really bad dry eye that I'm trying to fix, and flat-screen computer monitors make it a lot worse. For some reason, LCD TV's don't (I'm guessing because they're farther away, or because the image is bigger so I don't have to look at it so closely) so I want to use my TV to do things like school reports and stuff when I absolutely have to use the computer. I'm not overly computer/electronics-savvy so if you guys could try not to use technical terms it'd help out a lot. Thanks=)

My video card has DVI-I outputs and the monitor has DVI-D inputs. When they are connected the monitor displays a message indicating no source or connection. I thought DVI-I and DVI-D could be connected.

My monitor recently stopped working. I have a Dell flat panel screen, and the power button flashes on as a large horizontal band moves up the screen. They come on at the same time and it seems as though it is trying to come on but failing. It happens regularly every second or so. Should I bother to take it to be fixed? Is there is something I can do myself? What's wrong with it?
