I have been having trouble focusing at a distant and I think it is due to strain from computers.

Depends on the ambient (background) lighting. In a bright room you might need to turn up the monitor brioghtness to make out the details, but in a darker environment you may want to turn it down to take it easy on your eyes.

Brightest is best if you are in a well light room. If in a dark room, lower the brightness. LCDs are not too bad for your eyes, so I think it is probably something else.
