my laptop monitor has broken. Now I want to use my laptop machine with desktop monitor.I am using IBM laptop.

Most IBM monitors are held in by 6 screws if i remember correctly. You should be able to take those screws off, the keyboard off and then unhook all cables from the monitor to the motherboard.

FYI, if you have built in wireless those connectors are house in the monitor as well, so its advised to leave the monitor on or you wont have any signal on the wireless.

same subject different than for i'm using a Compaq CQ56 with a demonstrate screen that only all of sudden would not turn on after the laptop lost means. My pc woks however the demonstrate screen would not. i understand that is no longer an answer on your subject yet i presumed i might share.

You pretty much have to completely disassemble your laptop in order to remove the display.
