we recently got a brand new dj system for our club. the eMac couldnt take the new software so we switched to a PC. now i am trying to transfer all the music files (9000+ songs, 28GB-ish) from the eMac to the PC.
Now the club bought a 320gb external HD to store the music on. only problem is that the eMac does not recognise it. so i tried my 80gb external HD with the same result.
if i switch my 80gb HD to the specifications of the eMac, will i be able to still access the HD files?
in the eMac disk utility it gives me a choice of
1. ERASE: MAC OS EXTENDED, MAC OS STANDARD, MS-DOS FILE SYSTEM, and UNIX FILE SYSTEM
2. PARTITION: MAC OS EXTENDED, MAC OS STANDARD, UNIX FILE SYSTEM, and FREE SPACE
I also noticed my lexar thumb drive works on both because it is a FAT and not an NTSF like the other external hard drives. Is it possible to convert one of the hard drives to FAT to transfer the music, then revert it back to NTSF?
Please i need this help badly!
Your help is well appreciated!
