The webcam is a cheapie, but does indeed have a mic. I can use the video recorder selection on it to record vids with sound, but this is NOT working when hooked up to my computer using Yahoo Messenger. Any ideas, I've looked at configuration/speaker settings, and it seems like I've got those right.

I'm using Windows XP on a Toshiba Satellite laptop. The cam is a DXG model 305V, from Walmart. Like I said, a cheapie.

Go and test your sound in control panel.

Make and model would really help. Then, go to the web cam manufacturer's website and look for Drivers.

XP or Vista??? Yahoo for Vista isn't available yet, as stated in the link below:

TIP: If your laptop also has a built-in MIC, you have to turn one of them off in the Device Manager.
