I'm setting up dual monitors and wish to keep my graphics card that I have and just add a cheap dual headed graphic card. Can I do this and still use the graphic card that I have currently?

i have recently fitted a dedicated sound card to replace the onboard sound however when i try to installl the cards applications(control panel) the card reinstalls the drivers and then windows wont boot(strange!)
is there any universal sound control panels that will work with any sound card so i can change various settings
then again what do you expect for a £7 6 channel pci sound card by c-media,i think i will invest in a soundblaster audigy for around £20
any ideas guys ?

Thanks to Neebler for answering my questions earlier, I have a second part to that question. I accidentally closed the question I guess.

Thanks for the information on the VGA to video. Is it really cheaper to to get a new video card than to buy the VGA to video converter? If so, what video card would you recommend?

For the dual monitors I would have to have the KVM, plus the dual graphics cards bought separately from the KVM ?

Will the graphic cards that I have work with the KVM for dual monitors or will I have to get new ones? If so, what dual graphics cards get the job done, but aren’t so pricey?

I see that the KVM works by just pushing a button and switching between monitors. I would like to be able to drag my mouse off my computer and go to the next screen, but by using the kvm seems to be a good way for dualing. :)

Which is better for money,I have a Nvidia 8600GT.

Would it be better getting a 2nd 8600GT in an SLI config.

Or Buying a Nvidia 8800GT 320MB ?

PS: Please remember that the 8800 is £130, and another 8600 is only £75

Is this upgrade worth it.

I'm currently using;
2GB (2x 1GB) Patriot DDR2 667mhz RAM, CL 4-4-4-12

and im thinking of upgrading to;
2GB (2x1GB) OCZ DDR2 800mhz RAM, CL 4-4-4-15

Is it worth spending £70 on upgrading to this ?

My motherboard can handle it, i know.

Rest of PC Specs:

Intel Pentium Dual Core 950, 3.4ghz
250GB SATA2 Hardrive
Nvidia 8600GT 256MB GPU

My computer was wiped clean, and most documents were kept. My computer won't play sound, or pc games like Sims, though. It says it coudn't find a compatible audio or Graphics (DirectX) card. The Windows XP recovery disc was used, but the cards just won't work. ?
