I have a Spartan PC and The sound basically sucks...my grandson wants to be able to watch DVDs on it so I bought USB Powered Speaker System But I can't get it to work...I can hear a sound....if My ear is up to it But not the noise from the video...just nothing! Is there a trick?? something on my computer I need to turn on?? I am so confused...I plugged it all in correctly! HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!

I have a hp slimline s3100y and it only takes low profile video cards. Hp says use a card that takes 30 watts or around. I heard the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127301
uses around 40 watts. I only have 160w powersupply. Would it be dumb to put that video card in?

hi...i bought a lite on dvd burner and i tried burning some data with it....the first time i tried burning it went up to like a minute or so...and then it came up with a write failure...it juzt sais "burn process at 16x failed" i tried doing it again with an otehr one and it failed this time as well...and an other thing i noticed is....when i put in a blank dvd the autorun sais "blank cd" is that normal? whats wrong? could it be the drive? or any speed or something? thanks for your help...:).

Right now I have two 512MB RAM modules in my home-built PC. They are elixir 512MB DDR-400MHz - CL3 PC3200U modules. I would like to add an additional 1GB of RAM to the system. I have 3 total RAM slots (1 availible). Could I just buy a 1GB RAM module and add it to the existing RAM? Should it be the same brand (elixir)? Will I have any compatibility issues? Should I just buy two 1GB modules just to be sure? I would hate to waste the modules I have now.

Also, can I reformat my computer with the existing RAM now and add the RAM later or should I wait and install the new RAM before I reformat?

I have an LG crt monitor. I have the nvidia geforce 7300le graphics card. I planning to buy xfx geforce 8600gt or 8600gts.
On the preiview pictures of the cards I could see 2 DVI ports but no serial port. How will I connect my crt to the card?

I am looking for a motherboard that has a pci-x (not pci-e) and supports Quad processors.

Preferably one that is 45nm compatible and has a pci-e slot as well, but the first 2 requirements are a must.

All I could find were
the Asus "P5NT WS", the "P5WDG2", and the "P5K WS", and they are pretty hard to come by.

If I install a new 3.5 hard drive in a 5.25 inch bay using brackets, do I need to make sure that it is cooled? Also, the bottom of the drive (the metal not the circuitry) is touching metal, is this bad?

I just bought a 512mb 8600gts evga card on newegg, evga's website says it needs a min of a 400 watt power supply. My dell has a 375 watt.
It's a dell XPS 410, 6 months old
2.13 core duo
2 gig ram
2 250 gig hard drives
TV tuner ect...
Any input? I'm afraid to fry my $1,300 baby!

i have a geforce 7500 LE graphics card but i cant seem to run the graphics in high settings for some newer games
i have 2 gig of ram which is ok i guess

I ran test on NVIDIA site to see if my pc was SLI capable, and it says it is (NodusM3-GL8E motherboard). However I only have 1 PCI-E x16 slot and 3 PCI slots, so is it possible to have SLI?

hi iv just brought a 320 gb from maplin and im pritty disenpointed there nuthing wrong the device accept.
its not 320 GB its a total space 298 with free space at 296
what should i do any way its takeing so long to move all my files to the external device by USB/firewire.

I'll spare you the gory details, but I had to rearrange my home office which now requires my printer to be 26 feet away from my PC. I haven't been able to find any 26 ft long USB cables. Does anybody know if it is possible to connect multiple USB cables. If so, how do I go about doing this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
