Im thinking about buying parts for a computer. a 18x cd-dvd drive, 1GB (2x512mb), MSI 945P Neo5-F LGA 775 Intel 945P ATX Intel Motherboard, Intel pentium 4 processor 3.2ghz, and running windows xp home edition. how much would you pay for this computer?

My uncle (who knows a friend at some discounted electronics place) sent me a webcam recently in bubble wrap. It came with no software, and i can't find the model name/number. My computer detects the device, but I don't know where to find a driver/software thing for it. Is it possible to get it to work?

I want to install a new OS on my old emachines T1840. I can't decide on a linux distro. I need something that will run fast on this old computer. So far I've thought about Damn Small Linux and xUbuntu. What other distros are for low performance computers.

I can't install any games or play any games,or watch movies.When I gone to the device manager my cd rom drive had a yellow sign with an exclamation point next to it.So I checked it out and it said there was an error,code 39.Then I troubleshooted the device and it still didn't work.Any help?

I am planning on getting a white MacBook at the end of summer but I'm wondering if I should wait until the newer version comes out. I know the new iMacs just came out but does that mean that they will make new MacBooks soon too or that they will wait longer since they just came out with a new computer?

I bought the MacBook Pro because Apple told me it would be better than a PC. They were completely full of sh!t and just fed me whatever bull they wanted to make a sale. The MacBook can't do ANYTHING. It works with virtually NO games. My neighbor bought himself a new HP laptop (same thickness as MacBook Pro) and he can do everything and MORE than my pile of hud can -- all at a fraction of the cost of what I paid!!! Seriously, why does Apple insist on screwing its customers?

I tried to hook up my speakers on my computer by putting them in the lime green port on my XP computer but that didn't work. so i thought maybe the speakers were broken, so I hooked them up{ the same way I previously had} on my ME computer. They worked fine, so it's not the speakers it's the computer, right? Everytime I try to adjust the volume controls on my PC, I get a mesage telling me to go to the control panel,click printers, and then install the hardware. I tried that but nothing worked. I think it's my sound card. Could the problem have started because the computer was recently restored? Also, there is no way I can access my volume controls. The icon on my XP is gone and I'm not sure how to get it back? Please help! Thank you!

Hi i am thinking of upgrading the amount of ram i have on my computer and was wondering, could i just buy any stick of ram and plug it in or would i have to have a specific type?

speed/GHz - whats a good processor speed,
AMD vs Intel, quad core vs dual core?

brand - Dell, HP, Compaq, Gateway

vista - premium vs ultimate...
i already use vista premium & i like it so far, i just wonder if the upgrade to ultimate is worth the extra cost

We always used linksys. Everyone's tellin me that Laptops should be able to find wireless networks by themselves, but nothing happened. I look and find the Network Connections page but all i see is 1394 connection and no wireless network (linksys). I tried putting in the Linksys Setup wizard CD in, but i get an error report. One of my friends said that my XP might think that my laptop is actually a computer...but i don't know. Note: I have no drivers or anything. The Staples guy said that my laptop should be able to search for wireless networks by itself, but how come nothing's working? Can someone tell me how to connect my Linksys Broadband Router to my laptop?

I am going to buy a MAC notebook for school, because switiching between my parents PC, and there laptop is too difficult because all my files are on different computers. Being a high school student, I use word, powerpoint, and excel. I was wondering if I have to buy software for that, or if it is already on the computer. Also, do I have to buy software for Photo Booth?
