This morning when we turned our computer on, a message popped up that said "CPU fan failure." Every once in a while, it would seem like the fan would make a weird louder noise, but that was like months ago. And I don't want any stupid answers like "you need to replace the fan." No duh. It's a Dell Dimension 8400, so we're probably just going to have to send it in?

What I am attempting to do is record the input from two different USB mics into Garageband. It does not need to be a stereo pair, more like an interview format. I'm wondering if it is possible or would I be better off getting my hands on an audio interface. Thanks.

My computer project is slowly coming together and now I have to decide upon a case. Aluminum sounds appealing because it's lightweight, but I wonder if it's better for the parts inside heatwise than steel. I'm wondering what the pros and cons are of steel v aluminim cases.

Also, are there any smaller than mid tower ATX cases that use an ATX mobo? I'd like to be space efficient if possible, but not at the cost of expansion/upgradeability and temperature.

I've tried it and I don't really like it. I like its appearance but I don't like the performance.

Anybody else feel the same way?
