There is nothing that shows you when you visited files - that comes with windows XP.

You can use windows explorer to see when files were last modified. However; that doesn't mean when the file was put on your computer. That wouldn't be modifying the file.

as for most visited files you can click on the start menu and go to documents
this will show you the most recently accessed files.

You can access programs directly by going to the start menu: clicking run:
This information of recently accessed files is stored in your system registry.

Windows doesn't provide much functionality if you want control over your recent documents usage. I use a freeware application called ActualDoc Standard
Here's the blurb:
"ActualDoc Standard is a unique tool that allows you to manage your recently used documents and files. The standard Windows Recent Documents feature only shows a list of the last X files accessed, while this program allows you to keep long-term track of them and it automatically categorizes them by file type, date and other aspects"
