I've tried it and I don't really like it. I like its appearance but I don't like the performance.

Anybody else feel the same way?

Can you suggest some flash drives that youv'e used and liked? Where did you buy them? How much were they?

The one I bought was 1 GB and was about 50 dollars ( think it was 48 ).

Well a couple of you said that the drive was pretty good. So, I looked at the tour again, installed the launch pad and read about how to trasfer files again. And, now it does seem good.

I've used it only 2 times to transfer files, and it was extremely slow and was making my computer freeze. Turns out that I was doing
it wrong. I was clicking on the Explore U3 drive, making the window smaller, and transferring files from the Desktop to the F: drive in this window. Today I tried, transferring files from the left side of the Explore U3 drive window to the right side of the window, and yes it works great. A lot faster and smoother.

My previous information wasn't so clear.

Previously, I used to transfer files from my Desktop to the Removable Disk window. It was extremely slow.
Now, I tried transferring files between the left and right sides of the Removable Disk window. Was a lot faster and smoother.

( hope this is useful to anybody else who has the same problem )

Nope, take that back. I don't think it makes a difference.

Hello,
SanDisk is usually pretty good. It's what I have and I can't complain about it.
Lexar is another Brand that works well
Good Luck

I used to have one of these until somebody thought they needed it more than I did and relieved me of its possesion.

In my opinion the larger the flash drive, the slower it seems to be. I have a 64 Meg Lexar that 'feels' the quickest out of all my flash drives. I now have a 1 Gig LG drive that performs pretty much like my old Cruzer, no real complaints. My personal favorites on the other hand, are my Seagate Pocket Hard Drives:

6 Gigs of storage for 100 bucks at Wal-Mart. It's a little bulky but I think that's a good thing, makes it A LOT easier to keep track of. I have 3 of them now, 1 for general file storage, 1 set up as an emeregency XP boot disk and 1 set up with Knoppix linux just in case.

I have the micro in 256mb. Bought it a couple years ago for 12 bucks after a rebate from Office Depot. Use it regularly for classwork, and have been satisfied. NEVER has given me any corrupt data or anything of that nature, always been reliable. I'd consider it decently quick - when connected to a USB 2.0 port.

I deleted the Sandisk security as soon as I got it, so I can't comment on that. I heard that the security part leads to problems.

the performance is great MAYBE your computer usb is 1.0 or 1.1 not 2.0 which is 40 times faster than 1.1 You can add usb 2.0 to an older computer with a PCI usb card about $12

I get mine from http://4allmemory.com

They are cheap and its pretty small. I think all of them work the same way but if you want better performance ones, try 4allmemory.

Computer Slow

Download and then run startup.exe at:

http://www.mlin.net/startupcpl.shtml......

Can't live without it and windows...

Then disable and/or uninstall whatever u don't need.

Other things to try:

1 - Disk Cleanup (removal of temp files, cookies, etc.)
2 - Defrag
3 - Registry Cleanup (CAN BE VERY RISKY!)

ALL ELSE FAILS - RELOAD YOUR O/S (WINDOWS) AND THEN REINSTALL ALL OTHER PROGRAMS YOU NEED/USE!
