I have 2 drives. I have windows XP and I have a motherboard that supports raid (but its not shown in bios)

What do I do? don't I need to setup raid before I install windows?

I want to display pictures (not photos) on myspace side by side. Another way of putting this is I want to make a 5x5 block of 25 small picture/icon images. Whenever I put the code in my profile the pictures automatically stack top to bottom. Is there a code that I can add to the individual picture codes that will place them side by side?

I am not terribly computer literate. I'm purchasing a new pc and am cheap enough to question spending the extra money for 2GB. I'm looking at a machine with an AMD Athlon 64x Dual-Core 4000, 1GB memory, and a 160GB hard drive (although I can up it to 250 with a very minimal cost).

Is all this enough to run Vista Basic smoothly? I am not into pc games or heavy editing; I do basic digital photo stuff on my computer and like to listen to music. Other than that, it's really just surfing the web.

Also, if I were to spend the extra $100 for the 2GB, would it be a better investment in the long run? I have a 512MB with a Celeron processor now, it is slow as anything but I'm still barely using 55% of it's memory with my files and running XP. All thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks much :)

Im On my New Computer Now. but I want wanting to fix up my old computer to use as a backup. When I plug my computer in and turn it on the power button turns yellow automatically. and I also cant hear the hard drive kick on. What do you think could be wrong with my computer

my friend suggested the power supply could be bad or the hard drive

any suggestions??

I know the computers not in stand by mode because you can wiggle the mouse and push all the keys you want on the keyboard and it still doesnt work.

I have a mustek 1200 ub plus scanner... yeah, i know it old, but im trying to use it on my laptop with vista and i dont know if it will work, because there are only drivers for xp and others, and when i try to install it, it gets some errors saying parts of the installation are being used... is it possible at all to use this scanner on vista?

I ask that question before but none of them worked. It disappered on me. When I go to it, it doesn't come up. Also when I go down to see if the arrow thing would come up if it was hidden, but it didn't. So where did my task bar go.

Ok, I'm getting sick of having to log in to my hotmail, gmail, yahoo and aol email accounts, so I started configuring my apple "mail" application. but since Hotmail is MSN, and MSN is microsoft, it naturally sucks (it can't be any other way, of course, but I'm not going to go into that...) lol so I tried to have it forward to my gmail account, but it wouldn't let me. (cuz microsoft sucks) it would only let me forward it to a hotmail or windows live email account. so how to I get it to forward to my Gmail, as hotmail is my main email account?

Well i shut down my computar and left before it finished and i noticed it said shutdown and install updates so i went with it and came back 2 hours later to a frozen computar so i hit the power butten and went through the safe mod screen and i hit start windows normaly and it still was frozen so i hit safe mode(currently on it) and at this point im thinking that i should system restore my computar. Is that what i should do? will it earase any of my programs or harm my computar/slow it down.

I know this might sound like a silly question but, can anyone explain to me (in beginner's terms) how to change the spacing between text when using Photoshop? (I have the 7.0 version)
I was typing out some text in trying to create a specific image and hit "enter" & the space bar to go to the next line as I always do but, I noticed that the 2 lines of text are too far apart from what I am trying to do. How do I de-crease the space between the lines so that my 2 lines of text are closer together?

Ok so i have a HIS x1650 PRO

default it has a core clock of 600 and a mem clock of 800


so I got ATItool to overclock it, I tried to use Find Max Mem but my computer would mess up after only about 10secs. So I left the memory the way it is and i was able to use find max core and it got to 675 stable

but now when i play games
i noticed that some things in game are faster than before
like the counter strike source stress test, Normally it takes about 30secs but now my computer clears it within about 20secs

and also animations and things on all my games, is this suppose to happen when you overclock? and why cant i oc my mem? help please

i have a mobo that supports 8 gb rams and has 4 slots
1 is already loaded with a 1 gb stick
so there 3 slots left
and i am going to buy another 4 gb of ram (2x2gb sticks)
so I'll be running the 4 gb in dual channel and the 1 gb in single channel mode will this work?

I currently have a windows XP operating system (on my desktop computer). I am buying a new laptop in december, maybe january. It will be brand new from Circuit City. I will try and get one with good memory. Most of the laptops you buy new now have the Windows vista Operating System. I've heard some bad things about VISTA. I have had some problems with XP too though...I have had some hand on experience with Vista and had issues with it too. I'm sooo confused...should i downgrade whatever laptop I choose to an XP or keep the vista...which one do you think is better...what are the flaws in Vista? HELP Please...opinions are wanted too!!

i was with my friends one day and since we were bored, we made an "imposter profile" making fun of one of the juniors at our high school. it was meant to be a joke only we were going to see but one of my friends started leaving comments on our schoolmates pages. pretty soon there were comments, calling people c**ts. pretty soon, one of the schoolmates showed this to the principal. there was speculation as of who made it for a while. I tried to delete it but for some reason, myspace wouldnt delete them. they then got someone to track the IP address to my house (Of course my computer was used to create the profile) I need some advice on what to do. i dont wanna be blamed for the whole thing since i was only a small part of it. my schools small so it wasnt that great of an idea to start it anyway. I doubt ill get into that much trouble at school, the most that'll happen is me and the other kids will get dirty looks for the rest of the year. (Im a freshman btw)

I am a PC user all my life, and still in junior high. I am not going to use the computer for gaming, but i do need a lot of memory, ram, and hardrive since i will be using it until college. i have plenty of money in my wallet, a deal i made is that if i pay half of the money, my parents would pay for the other half. I have $3000 which i started saving 7 years ago, so i am able to purchase a $6000 computer. Yay!! Well, I am not a computer nerd and is really confused with either to buy a mac, pc, desktop, laptop. I went many many sites about those mac vs. pc things but half says pc, half says mac. I have no idea of macs and how they work, so it would help if you explain it to me. Which operating system is better? vista or mac osx? well i dont want to go off topic, but just asking. maybe i should buy the desktop because it is way powerful than a laptop, but in the other hand, maybe a laptop because of the portability needed through high school. i am really confused. so please tell me why
