the light doesnt come on and when i put the pin the little whole it doesnt open either??? how can i check if there power to the drive??

By not open you mean the drive does not pop out . or that when you put a disk in it does not start up. If the door does not open there is a small hole in the door that you can put a pin in that will pop it open. If the light is not on for the drive it may have no power.

Normally there will be a pin hole somewhere on the front of the CD drive. You can use a straightened paper clip in that hole to open the drive.
If the problem is a stuck CD, opening it and removing the CD should fix the issue.
If it does not, check that the unit has power. When you are booting, you should see the power light come on the CD for a couple seconds.
If it has power, and is still not opening, then something has damaged the gears that open and close th door. You will have to replace the drive.

there should be a small hole on the face of the drice...stick a straightened paper clip in there until you feel pressure, it should do the trick
