I know this might sound like a silly question but, can anyone explain to me (in beginner's terms) how to change the spacing between text when using Photoshop? (I have the 7.0 version)
I was typing out some text in trying to create a specific image and hit "enter" & the space bar to go to the next line as I always do but, I noticed that the 2 lines of text are too far apart from what I am trying to do. How do I de-crease the space between the lines so that my 2 lines of text are closer together?

In the Character Window, there are two numbers next to each other. One is the type size, the other is the leading. That's the space between lines.

Highlight all the text you want to change, type a smaller number (try a number about 2 points larger than your text) and hit enter.

Photoshop has a mind of its own. The text function does not always come out as you type it so you have to go to a print preview to see what it will look like. Then you can go back and make changes. Do print preview until you have what you want. You decrease the spaces by placing your pointer between the text and delete the empty spaces, or send me your file and I will correct it for you.

Activate your Character's palette window from 'Window' menu.
Line spacing is placed under the Type Style. If you choose the line spacing value lower than the Type size, your line spacing will be moved closely each other.
And if you want to type with a paragraph style (frame style), drag and range your mouse pointer with your Type tool. Than type your text on that area.

Good luck.
