i was with my friends one day and since we were bored, we made an "imposter profile" making fun of one of the juniors at our high school. it was meant to be a joke only we were going to see but one of my friends started leaving comments on our schoolmates pages. pretty soon there were comments, calling people c**ts. pretty soon, one of the schoolmates showed this to the principal. there was speculation as of who made it for a while. I tried to delete it but for some reason, myspace wouldnt delete them. they then got someone to track the IP address to my house (Of course my computer was used to create the profile) I need some advice on what to do. i dont wanna be blamed for the whole thing since i was only a small part of it. my schools small so it wasnt that great of an idea to start it anyway. I doubt ill get into that much trouble at school, the most that'll happen is me and the other kids will get dirty looks for the rest of the year. (Im a freshman btw)

You took part in this, you allowed it to continue on your machine. You need to take responsibility for your part in it. In the real world, this kind of thing could put you in court facing thousands in damages, maybe even prison. Wake up.

You should deal with the consequences of your actions.
What you did could have gotten you sued, considering I'm pretty sure stealing someone's identity-no matter how you do it-is a SERIOUS thing and you broke myspace's rules I can bet anything, by making a false profile of someone else.

Making an identity on myspace as a person you are not could have gotten you into court, so if all you are getting is a look-count your blessings and apologize.
If someone came here and asked for help to hide after stealing a TV-would you help them?
You stole a persons dignity, identity, and probably damaged their self esteem. Shame on you.
What if the person who stole the tv, only had a small role? Is he not still accountable? should he still not have consequences?

As a freshman you should have been trying to make a good impression, not pulling people down for a good laugh-whether it's private or not (and you KNOW myspace is NOT private!) is a shallow thing to do.
Say you are sorry to the people involved before you grow into a person you never thought you'd be.
Sorry to be firm, but someone needs to tell you the truth. We need less bullies and harassment's in schools-and you didn't help that.
If you don't want to rat your friend out don't-but you should act mature enough and accept the punishment. Maybe your friends guilt will get the best of them.

Isn't it strange how freshmen (13,14,15 year olds) want to be treated like adults but when they do something foolish they don't want to do the adult thing and take responsibility for their actions?

Step up and act like an adult. You were a part of it - you deserve the punishment. If it were a good thing, would you try to hide from any compliments?
