Someone either hacked into my MySpace account and deleted my one of my friends or hacked into my friend's account and deleted me.
Both of us were in each other's top friends and both of us had full top friends. On my page instead of the friend, it's been replaced with Tom. On my friend's page where I was it's blank.
How do we know?

I'm getting a laptop when I leave for college next year and I was wondering which brand I should go for. I've used windows on Dell computers all my life, but those cool Mac Vs. Pc commercials caught my attention. =)

I'm sick of windows always screwing my computer up and thought macs look cooler. I don't play any games (besides occasionally Sims2), but instead spend most of my time doing school papers and presentations, and uploading and editing pictures, and going on AIM and the internet.

With this backround information, which would you recommend for me? AND if you suggest Apple, is a Macbook Pro worth it for me? AND, can someone explain how getting the internet works for laptops?

Sorry for this very, very long question. I appreciate it alot though! =)

Is it true that if you put files in your "my documents" folder before reformatting, that they will be safe and you won't lose them?

And if not, is there a way to save them without moving them to a disk? I know that is the safest way to do so, but I don't have that many disks or the patience, so I was just looking for a quick and easy answer.

Ok, Heres the problem. I have a HP WLAN 54g W450 Network mini pci card in my laptop. I got this card off of a computer that shorted out. Now this card works great when I am 2 to 3 feet away from the wireless router ( I have tried linksys and microsoft wireless g and b), but as soon as I am like say...5-8 feet I have little or no signal. Now I have a WAP in my bedroom which is roughly 15-20 feet away and i have great signal, so I know its not an interference issue. I also turned off the wap and that did nothing for the adapter. Do you think it could be just that the hardware is faulty or is there a way to boost these cards? I can't find much info on them, let alone a firmware update. Any help would be greatly appreciated! - computer is a compaq presario 2190us 2.4ghz 650 +/- ram.....Built in 10/100 ethernet card

My computer is really slow and keeps telling me that my computer has been infected with a Trojan(i have no clue what that is). I also have a lot of pop-ups about my computer being infected with a Trojan and alot of anti-spyware & anti-virus programs that it is telling me that i have to download them. I haven't downloaded any of them because im afraid that it might mess up my computer even more. What are some good reputable anti-spyware programs that i can use and what is up with my computer? Ok, I am a bit of a computer dunce, so please bear with me.

Our computer crashed the other day and I lost everthing on the hard drive.
I had my resume backed up to disk, but because Word has been updated on the computer (to Wordpad) it seems to have trouble reading/formatting it......te text and bullet points and stuff come up as mumbo jumbo, at least at first, but then looks normal after a few secs. I'm worried about how it will look to an employer when they open it. Are you able to update it or format it? I no longer have the old Word on the computer.

Ahh, hope this makes sense.

When i open an excel file it now only opens in the same window? you can only see that i have several excel files when u either minimise each file (and see the file underneath) or on excel go to windows and pick the file. I didnt have this issue before and do not have this issue on microsft word. Issue started today only in excel. Please help it is so annoying. Like to see each excel file on my task bar with everything else open. Thought it was a group similar icon issue but cant find that either, having said that it only is an issue with excel. Could anyone advise a solution? Thank you.

I am very new to the whole programming game. I bought a book not to long ago called "C++ Without Fear", but I am having a hard time reading what this guy writes half the time.

I have also been to "Teach Yourself C++ in 21 Days" but again, this website assumes too much knowledge in programming in my opinion.

Is there a *FREE* website that offers a tutorial to fluently (or at least close to that) learn c++?

I have a dell laptop theres no drivers missing for this laptop all my drivers are installed, i cannot hear anything i go 2 my audio properties and it says no audio device, I bought a usb audio device to see if it works and it does work with the usb, its a usb that plugs into the lap top like anyother usb, it has a audio input .... that does work on my lap top but everytime i unplug it and try connecting the cable direclty to the laptop theres no audio ..... please help

I recently bought the new chocolate from LG, and I installed the music software that came with it. It connects to the computer via usb cable. Ever since I connected the phone (and after I disconnected it), I've been getting a message that says "new hardware found" in the system tray. The phone isn't even hooked up!! It happens every 5 seconds. I've ran virus software, but nothing changed it...it is still happening. Any help is much appreciated!

I have no idea what could have caused this, but the most likely thing is software or hardware corruption. Every time i start it up, the blue screen keeps appearing. I try to start the computer in safe mode, last know working configeration, but it fails too.

On the blue screen it says: "Disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation or backup utilities. Check your hard drive configuration and check for any updated drivers. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer"

I did install some anti-virus software last week, but i dont know what are "disk defragmentation or backup utilities." My mom replaced the RAM last month but i dont know about "hard drive configuration and check for any updated drivers." When it says "Run CHKDSK /F" how do you do that?

I really want to fix this problem. Its the main computer in my house. I dont know much about computers either. Please help.
Explain so i may understand.

ive spent atleast $200 on music from itunes store! the rest of the music is from cds, but its still a hassle to put them on there! if i wouldve known that they would delete all my hard earned music i would have delt with the virus i had.

I have a PC that when I play music the sound only comes from the internal speaker. I have tried changing some things in the device manager but no luck. I have nice external speakers that I want to hear music on but no luck yet. I have an IBM thinkcentre with a soundmax card but someplace in the mix my stereo sound has been lost. :(
I just recently got this PC and my speakers worked fine with the old one so I am sure that it isnt the speakers.

Ok here I go again, cuz i have no idea how to do it, and the Installation CD is just confusing me :S
I have a PC and a laptop, I bought a Linksys Router, and I have a USB network adaptor for my PC and my laptop can go wireless, I have my DSL modem from bellsouth, now the thing is how do I install the router??.. the DSL modem has a DSL cable, a USB cable, an Ethernet cable & the power cord, the router has two cables, the power cable, & an Ethernet cable.

Ok the cable that connected my modem to the computer was a USB cable, not the one pictured above, i never used the Ethernet cable that came with my DSL modem.

Ok but my computer dosen't have an Ethernet port (or network port how they call it) so what am I supposed to do?? does this mean i can't connect the router? plz help thanx
