My parents want to buy me a lap top for christmas or graduation. I've never had a Mac (raised on PC and Microsoft) BUT I do have access to one that I can try. I will be using it mostly for photoshop and college(hopefully SCAD). Which is more efficient for this kind of work?

I have windows XP and there was a virus in WINDOWS\invupdate.exe and my norton antivirus has deleted that file. Will it harm my computer and how can i get that file back? My computer dont have any recoverable software.

i just bought the driving test success all tests pc/dvd, which says it includes a digital version of the highway code in it, where you can view, search and print... but i cant find this anywhere in any of the options! can somebody who has it tell me where it is found on the options please? thanks!

What I did was this: I hi-lighted a portion of a microsoft Word document and cut it out. Then I pasted it onto another word document. I closed out of the other word document (where I had pasted the portion) without saving it, and I answered "no" to "you placed a large amount of text on the clipboard. Would you like to keep it there?" HOW DO I GET IT BACK? Is there any way, no matter how complex it may be?

I was downlaoding while an icon appears at the right bottom corner and it says 'Critcal system error'(flashing and changing from X to ?) and after few minutes another icon apperas next to the first saying 'System Alerts:Malware threats', on clicking it takes me to a web page http://www.virusburst.com/?aff=334 and http://malwarewipe.com/?rid=247
My internet explorer stop working and on clicking it goes to http://safeiepage.com/ and its not allowing me to go to any other site
I run the latest MaAfee. virus scan but it coulnd detect anything.

I bought a computer back in 2003. It has an Intel P4 2.2 Ghz processor with a clock speed of 100 Mhz. I'm looking to update my RAM and the people I'm shopping with are asking me what kind of RAM I want. They're asking if I want PC3200 or PC2700, etc.
I have no idea what that means. I do know that I have 512 Mb of DDR Ram but up until now, I have never heard of the different types they are suggesting.
Can someone shed some light on this facet of computers for me?
