Hi!
My Norton antivirus deleted that file too, and it has done nothing to my computer and everything is fine. When I checked the details as to where that virus came from it said it came when I loaded my xp on my computer so as far as I know it is a defect in the software. I hope that this helps you! Have a great day!

I did a google check, it looks like this is "dangerous" which is why it was deleted. Check the nortons website for information about it, or google it. More importantly, do you know by what path it got onto your computer? You also need to check your firewall is turned on and that you have good spyware / anti-adware software.
If you are really worried, back up your most important files, and then reboot the pc.

Invupdate.exe isn't a windows file, it is either a file create by the virus or a file placed on your computer by the installation of another program. So I don't think you should have any problems.

That file is installed by this Trojan. Norton did a good job in removing it.

C:\WINDOWS\invupdate.exe -> Trojan.Imiserv.c
