ok, I am trying to partition my hard drive to have 2 operating systems. I am using a trial edition of Paragon Partition Manager 8.0. I've created several new partitions that were different but they never too effect/they were gone when i clicked apply changes. Please provide step-by-step instructions on how to partition my hard drive using Paragon Partition Manager 8.0

Don't tell me to buy software, because i'm not going to do that. I only have one hard drive and I will not buy another one.

The current operating system is Windows ME and I want to put XP on it. I don't want to hear that Windows ME sucks, I already know but I have to keep it for certain reasons.

both my systems are connected to the net via two different DSL modems, My IP address is Dynamically allocated, it changes only when i disconnect&reconnect to the net, else remains same. when i ping to my other system it is successful, Remote Desktop is installed on both systems. I tried ask for remote assistance in windows help but after some time it says could not resolve hostname.
firewall exception for remote login is enabled.
someone pls help i need access to my other computer from my home.
No corporate network, no lan nothing. just two systems running winxp professional and both are connect to the net via a DSL modem.

i have a wireless network at home which works fine. i have taken my laptop to school and it picks up the school network but its harder to connect than i thought. i have tried many things but i am still unable to get an internet connection using internet explorer. i dont know whats wrong. what do i do? I have a website that is all .html right now. I want to make it more interactive and my webhost supports frontpage extensions, php, mysql, .asp extensions, so on so forth. I don't need flashy graphics or anything like that. Just the ability to have contol over the website and to able to setup automatic registration and things like that. Which is best and cheapest for these purposes. Dreamweaver, visualbasic, frontpage? and which version should i look for.

just got my computer back after having some major problems. I had it totally re-booted and lost alot of stuff so I am trying to re-load everything and get my computer back in the game.
The copy of Windows XP I have is not "vaild" therefore I am having some issues with the media player. There is an erroe loading the "codec"?
The player will play audio but not video.
Does anyone know how I can get around this invaild XP code and get a working version of WMP?
Is there something else I can use to play video files I have downloaded off of Bearshare?
If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

***By not being "valid" I mean illegal. It is a copied version. Microsoft will not let me download the new vresion of WMP without validating

I have a Gateway MX6448 that operates at an extremely high temperature. The CPU fan kicks on at 70C, and cools down to 65C before shutting off. How can I manually control the fan or change the temperature at which it engages? Also, is the fan software controlled or hardware controlled? I realize that it reads temperature to control the fan, but is there software that tells it when to engage or is this a physical property of the laptop?
