both my systems are connected to the net via two different DSL modems, My IP address is Dynamically allocated, it changes only when i disconnect&reconnect to the net, else remains same. when i ping to my other system it is successful, Remote Desktop is installed on both systems. I tried ask for remote assistance in windows help but after some time it says could not resolve hostname.
firewall exception for remote login is enabled.
someone pls help i need access to my other computer from my home.
No corporate network, no lan nothing. just two systems running winxp professional and both are connect to the net via a DSL modem.

Probably the most hassle-free and secure solution would be to use the program Hamachi ( http://www.hamachi.cc/ ) or the web service LogMeIn ( http://www.logmein.com/ ). I have used both products in the past and while each has its quirks and issues to deal with, they have been pretty solid and user-friendly. Best of all, both are free to use.

There are far more complicated ways of doing this, but if SSH tunneling, remote VNC sessions and some heavy command line usage sound scary to you, I wouldn't recommend them as a solution.

u can use some software like -- GO TO MY PC

you can only try accessing your conputers thru remote desktop only when your cmputer has a static IP
