i have a wireless network at home which works fine. i have taken my laptop to school and it picks up the school network but its harder to connect than i thought. i have tried many things but i am still unable to get an internet connection using internet explorer. i dont know whats wrong. what do i do? (detailed suggestions would be nice)

You should ask the network administrator at your school to give your the settings in order to make a valid internet connection

Anywhere you go where there is a hot spot your computer should pick it up, but that doesnt mean your computer is set up to work with that server... my best answer would be to ask your network admin at school to find if they have proxys or if you need to set up something different. Dont use internet explorer! use firefox

the wireless Internet at your school might be a secure Internet and that's way you cant get on, you would need a password !
