I've tried Windows Media Player, Real Player, Quicktime.... nothing works. Help!

256mb already fitted. I added 512 mb and now it wont boot up.
the RAM isa new and was fitted carefully, with regard to statric protection etc.
removing the ram, the PC boots normally
O/S is XP home edition
any ideas

I used to use Nero for making slideshows of pictures and adding music to them before burning it all to dvd

Now for some reason my Nero has changed and I don't know what to do.
