Is there anypoint in spending more money on a 2.16ghz intel core 2 duo proccesor rather than a 2ghz intel core 2 duo.

hmm 160mhz is not alot of diffrence. so no point

Well, if your CPU is saturated and an 8% maximum speed bump is worth the money to you, yes. Otherwise, no.

My last upgrade was going from a 500MHz G4 to a 1.66 Core Duo. THAT is a worthwhile speed bump... about 900 percent according to my POV-Ray benchmarks.

It just depends on what your going to use the computer for! Just for browsing and surfing the net theres no point. But if you do Video editing and want to play the latest games it can make a difference mainly on video editing. A lot depends on what memory and graphics card you use. Its a lot to take on when buying a new computer so do you research and it will pay dividends.

look for the model type of cpu

few more thing to look r

1. l2 cache of both cpu's
2. bus speed of both cpu's
3. power consumption of both cpu's
4. compatibility with the mother board u r buying .

yes 2.16 is giving more fun than 2.0 ; mine is 1.5 only , too slow
