yes you can you have to run another program freepops in order to access your hotmail account if its a free one. heres the link to download it.

Outlook (and Outlook Express) require POP3 access to a mail server to receive mail from it. I believe that you have to upgrade your mail account from a free one to a paid one (Hotmail Plus) in order to do this.
