You may need to boot directly from a CD or even a boot disk.
Make sure that your CMOS settings are set to boot from your CD drive first, before trying to boot from the hard drive.
Once you've booted from a setup CD, you should be able to:
A) format your hard drive
and/or
B) Install a new OS over the old one.

ok if you have the new hard drive in with a windows os on all you do is this put the old hard drive in and make it the slave drive on the back of the hard drive your see a jumper then you put that on the the slave pin then u connect the data cable to it that is connected to the new hard drive then boot up the pc

do nothing just plugin to it check the cables
and if the pins also doesnt match we get some 1 more device
to it

well buddy, u've got to format r hard disk..and install what ever new version Operating System that u want to use, for example Windows XP or Linux

haha..u should format your old hard disk..try to get into the dos and type c:\format ()
() will be the drive that your old hard disk be
soon your old hard disk will be formatted..
anyway,before that,u should make sure that your old hard disk is fix with the correct jumper at the back and make sure it is the slave..do not fix it with the master..it will be fine..
