I have uninstalled and reinstalled AIM several times, but it continues to stall on "connecting" and I cannot sign on. I
recently had some problems with my Internet Explorer and the Dell service people instructed me to reset some settings..could this have something to do with my problem? Any advice on how to fix AIM would be much appreciated! In case it matters, I have a Dell Latitude D610 and connect using a LAN. Thanks!

I am a high school senior, and I'll go to college next year. I may wnat to have a notebook for all sorts of papers, emails, and also... I don't know, just regular uses!

What notebook shall I choose? Dell have good prices and quality, but Toshiba is also good, said by some of my classmates. I have no idea what programs they have whey you buy it.

Any ideas about that? Thanks :)

I have been trying to install Adobe Reader to my computer and it won't install. This is what it tellls for the reason that it doesn't install:


This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel.

also this error box appears

Unable to launch AOM file. Create Process return code: 10151492

can someone please tell me what to do to slove this problem.

My question today is about distros of linux, now I do understand int the REAL world of jobs out today (personally my forte is Computer Programming) it does help to have some (if not a good understanding) of the unix/linux structure. As for now I am unable to take a class at my local community college to learn more about linux so I have decided to go with one of the above two versions.
The first reason being that my school teaches Linux under the distro Red Hat Enterprise Version X.X (not sure about version numbers), so figured using the personal version I may benefit from (in class). Second the reason why I chose SuSe 10.x is because I have a "software" raid controler on my system and I know many versions of linux DO NOT SUPPORT software raid...

Questions...
1) Does FC5 support software raid? I am currently trying to find out now
2)What would you recommend between the two distros.

What I dont want is a reason why these distros "suck" or a recommendation to another version.

A few seconds after I log on and get into Windows (I have a Windows XP laptop), the screen freezes for a moment, then it goes black. Then the screen reappears, but everything is a bit slower. Letters appear more slowly on the screen after you type them and when I drag the scroll bar on the right hand side, it's slow and choppy. What is causing this and what should I do? I already tried scanning using a few virus scanners.

I have seen several articles and advertisements for "high powered" wireless routers. I thought the output power of wireless routers was standard and specified by regulation. Are some routers higher powered? Maybe a better question is can a standard router be hacked to raise the power output?
