If it is a titanium Powerbook G4, it uses the classic airport card. You need a torx screwdriver to remove the bottom lid, the card fits in a metal cage aligned atop the pc card slot, you can spot it because it will have a small cable to connect the card to the antenna.
If it is an Aluminum Powerbook G4, then it uses Airport Extreme. It is a much smaller card. Remove the battery, there is a slot to install the card in there.
You can also buy a usb clone of either of these cards. You can find those on eBay and cost almost the same as a used card.

A Powerbook G4 should have an Airport Extreme card in it already. Look around in network settings of system preferences about how to set it up.

All you will have necessary to do is have long previous to an electronics keep and offered a router for ~$50 as your inlaw did. formerly I knew something approximately routers I did the comparable ingredient with an information superhighway service. had to pay for yet another IP address so 2 desktops would desire to apply the internet connection on the comparable time. that's what some IPs like purchasers to think of they could do to get diverse desktops linked.

Your PB G4 should have Airport Extreme built in. Go to System Preferences go down to Network and click on Airport Card. If it doesn't (unlikely) Macsales.com should have some.

I'm sure that some people will post sites where you can buy one. I would just like to say (in case you didn't know) that you don't have to buy an adapter card that is the same brand as your router.
Well, okay, I'll post a site:
