An instant message NOT an email. Laura mis-read the question and answered regarding EMAIL -- everyone else that answered jumped on the "email wagon" but it was an instant message. I replied "is there something I can help you with?" and received no answer. Should I just place them on ignor? I only saw one "answer/question" in here that spoke to the subject matter and it was not what I was looking for. Since then I hit "ignor" and marked it as a spam instant message. So, my question is; Does yahoo practice this type of activity? Is their an organization that has "chat detective"? or, Was it a bot? Thanks to anyone that might be able to shead light on this type of activity. Billy

Ok here's the situation: I built a computer from scratch.. I got a custom biostart motherboard, an AMD athlon 2.2ghz 3700+ processor and a new case.. Now I removed the harddrive from my Compaq, which had a fried motherboard and I removed the CD RWs and the Floppy drive from it and connected them to the new custom comp.. Only problem is the windows XP which existed on the harddrive is being wierd cuz it gives me the screen of death r continuous restarting.. This is prolly cuz i changed the motherboard.. Now i'm trying to buy Windows XP on ebay and I dunno if the OEM will work r if I have to buy the retial version.. I hope u get the situation.. basically I'm trying to reinstall windows with a brand new package but on ebay the OEMs r much cheaper than the retails n i'd like to save money at this point.. so thanx for all the answers ppl..

Its really frustrating but usually everytime the computer starts, the start bar freezes but everything above that runs fine. So the window buttons on the start bar are still there even when I have closed those programs and the clock doesn't run. After a few minutes of waiting, the start bar unfreezes and the window programs I have closed disappear too and the clock immediately warps to the suppose-to-be time. What's wrong with this P.O.S?

I had broadband and yet it takes ages to get into my computer. when I want to go to Answers or google I get Games. When I answer or ask a question the screen freezes and the little "e" goes black and I have to keep on pressing until it opens. It is so frustrating and time consuming. I have pressed the plugs back Iinto the modem but its still happening. Should I get rid of the Yahoo Homepage and make it hOTMAIL as I didn't seem to have so many problems there as I have in Yahoo. I keep getting "not connected" whenever I try the dial up. Please help me because its driving me crazy.

I am having a problem on my laptop where I can't seem to open anything. No my computer, no control panel, no internet explorer. I get the hourglass and then it just goes away and nothing opens.

I have run a virus checker, spyware checker and registry cleaner. no luck.

For a while, I could get firefox to open and i tried downloading a couple programs to wipe my hard drive and start over. There is nothing on the laptop I need, i just use it as an alternate place to surf the web.

Now firefox wont work. Netscape is working and i can access some files by typing C:\\ in the address bar, but who knows how long this will last.

Here is my problem. I don't have the discs anymore to boot from the CD. I am running windows ME (i think, can't varify this as i cant open anything.)

So, my question is, is there a program i can download that will wipe the hard drive but keep the windows files? Everything i have is on drive C. no partitions.

i need to print off a photo but whenever i put the paper in it just goes through the printer and comes out blank.

the comp says that the paper is not loaded correctly.

i am using epson 13 x 18 cm premium glossy paper and the programme, epson easy photo print

can anyone tell me which way to put in the photo paper and any tips for what i might be doing wrong??

For some reason all of the (supposedly) black letters on my computer are black and purple!! (some bits of letters black, some purple!) I know - weird!! I don't know if it's something I've done (most probably is!!) because I was playing around with the appearance settings. It's driving me nuts and is starting to make my eyes hurt because they keep trying to correct my vision!! Does anyone know what the hell I've done? (I don't!) I've got Windows Media Centre and my computer's about 5 months old. Was wondering how to set everything back to the default settings so I can start again. I've looked under Help and couldn't find anything, although it did say that it had default visual settings it didn't say how to get them. I'm a novice with all this computer stuff and hope I haven't stuffed up majorly!! Pleeeeease Help!!! :(

how do i reduce the size,the track is only 1 minute 35 long and its 18mb, i made it using garageband and i dlike to display it on my profile on ,myspace.i am unable to upload it at file den as i thought it would accept it but it wont,maybe because iam using wireless and not broadband ?but how do i reduce the size? with out affecting quality?
