I guessed the different toolbars have their own different merits. Personally I prefer google's toolbar. But that is me being bias. I don't really use it often, but it's becoming convenient when I need to use it for work.

The pop-up blocker's excellent as well.

I have the toolbar and I like it because it an anti-spy that you can scan in addition to what you have. I had it before I got my new computer. You can put whatever icon buttons you want in reach to make easier access to those things you may want, ie games, astrology, sports, music etc. along with my other stuff.

Yes, at the top there is a mail icon and it will tell you in a little red number how many "mail" you have. If it is more than 10 it will say 9+. Right now there is a Upgrade Now icon that I haven't tried. I am fine with what is there now.

I hope this helps.

NO. As much as I luv Yahoo!, their and almost ALL toolbars are just a resource and real-estate hog. Some toolbars add potential threats of intrusion to the unsuspecting installer--Yahoo's newest toolbar seems to be safe in this regard...

However, Internet Explorer the program Yahoo! Toolbar is used with is not a safe program... It has more security holes in it than Swiss cheese. You are far better off keeping IE as a backup and downloading FireFox as it is a much more secure browser and you'll have your yahoo! type toolbar built in... FF offer 1000's of customer added packages that can do everything form open your G-Mail to instant weather reports and forecasts...

I barely even notice it's there. It is run using Norton Antivirus, so it really only as good as Norton is. (In my opinion that's not much!) I have the pop-up blocker off, and didn't even realise it. I mainly use it for a quick shortcut to all of Yahoo's sites (mail, search engine, games, etc). For that purpose it is fast, easy and worth having. As for the other features, like I said, I hardly notice it's there. If you have a small screen it might bother you... All I use on it are the quick-shortcuts, and the search box. (I let my Avast do everything else.) There are alerts you can set and it will let you know, just click on the button that looks like an envelope with a ringing bell in front of it.

I am very anti-toolbars, because I think they just eat up memory and serve for nothing. If you have Y! Messenger you already know when you have new mail, so no, I don't think it's worth having.

I'd use the Firefox Web Browser.

It's safer than Explorer and has pop blocking built into it
