I need a converter to change Works Documents into Word Documents. Is there anything out there that can do this, or do I have to buy microsoft Word and re do all my Documents............

So I'm really good with using computers but I know nothing about the differences and qualities of them. I am changing a room in the house to my own office for work and I'd like to get a new computer. First off, is it true that laptops have a lot of problems? Secondly do you have any good recommendations for laptops or computers? What brands to look for? etc? thanks!

when I go into an email and I have a link to click on, the screen pops up all over the original screen. How can I make the link just come up in a small box, so I can still see the original email, but just quickly look at the link in a small box?? Then I can maximise it if I want to.

Hope that makes sense!!

I just bought a macbook and found textedit to be very simple and not-much-to-do-with-it. But there is a microsoft office for a mac($150) and iwork '06 ($80) available. I would like to know which one is better in terms of quality of software and money, etc.

i used to be able to burn dvds to dvd-rw discs, using nero smartstart. but now, if i try to burn certain films, that are avi type, it comes up with an error message, something about mpeg 4 decoding, can't remember exactly what it says. does anyone know what happened, why it just suddenly stopped burning, and what i can do to get it to burn again? preferably without me having to pay out a lot of money? thanks in advance.

I've re-loaded the OS several times now, and it just doesn't seem to work for more than a few hours before it fries again....New Hard Drive seems to be a logical fix....(correct me if I'm wrong!)

Is this a complicated extraction and replacement, or a simple one? I'm pretty good with this kind of stuff, but I don't want to open up a can of worms, you know?

Iam thinking to sign up with directTV basic service beacuse i get extremely poor local broadcast. i understand direct TV will give you a receiver to receive their broadcast. but when the contract ends, the TV receiver will be returned, the only thing left is the disk can i then still be able to receive local broadcast using the disk on the front lawn as an antenna?

I am trying to sell a guitar online in Canada. Someone is interested in buying it. I am selling it for $1200. Some guy wants to buy it and said he will be sending a cashier's cheque for $3000. He wants me to take the cheque and cash it. Deduct the $1200 for the guitar and have the remaining money sent to his pick up agent by Western Union in the UK. then the pick up agent will come and pick up the guitar. Is this legit?

I went to the manufacturer's site for my Visioneer scanner, located the drivers, and followed the instructions but after the installation I noticed there was no icon on the desktop, and nothing in my Start menu. I'm thinking I'm leaving something out and I haven't a clue what it is. I've been at this all day. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd really like to hear from someone who's experienced the same problem. Thanks.

The internet will work fine all day and will suddenly stop working. After restarting the computer the internet works fine. I have concluded that the modem and router are not at fault because my other computers have had no issues with connectivity. I'm guessing its a software glitch, but I can't pin-point the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

My computer died during a power surge. It went blank...made a beeping and buzzing sound coming from inside it, and would not come back...

I tried F10 for system recovery and it worked. It worked for three days and died again....

I ran F10 again and it came back, but this time it was very jerky and slow...then one day later it totally died....buzzing sounds back, beeping, black screen etc...

Now I get my desktop and nothing else. It won't move...the buzzing sound is back, F10 won't work and it seems to be burnt.

Someone told me if I can get to the desktop, even though I can't get another thing, not even in DOS mode, can't even get to DOS mode...then it's alive. I don't see it as a happening thing. I feel if I pay big money to fix it, it will die again in due time...and it will be only be guarenteed for 30 days.

Next time I'll fully insure the new one and not allow this to happen again. This computer is only 13 mos old and WAS loaded...had a new graphic card installed too.

Does anyone think it's worth the money to have it fixed? IF IT can be fixed?
