YES! I had limewire on my computer and it slowed down a lot and messed up my computer. I found out there were permanent viruses that wouldn't get deleted from using norton internet security or even mcafee virus security. And you definitely get viruses....but never "identity theft", just be sure to not sign up and put your information such as name, e-mail...on share mode. keep it on private and you'll be fine.

Identity theft; less likely. Vulnerable to viruses? There may be a way that people can access your computer if they really really know what they're doing; not sure. But I believe some songs and other files may contain a virus in them.

yes and no beacuse some people send things over limewire that are not protected and may have viruses but not all things on limewire have viruses. so it is a gamble.

i did see a report showing that they could use limewire to access files with information like personal telephone numbers but i did not understand how they did it. it was probably using Limewire pro or that person saved those files in the shared folder

Lime wire is not completley safe against viruses. Not sure about the identity theft part.

Limewire does not carry spam, i have had limewire for a little over a year with no promblems, and couldnt be happier

well if u hav a antivirus n all da files u download then scan wit ur antivirus then u can 80% save wit big viruses

Get Ares.. i've had it for years and no viruses or ads come with it.. be sure to get "ares lite" less problems.
