The internet will work fine all day and will suddenly stop working. After restarting the computer the internet works fine. I have concluded that the modem and router are not at fault because my other computers have had no issues with connectivity. I'm guessing its a software glitch, but I can't pin-point the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I have tried all of the issues listed below. I have been working on comptuers for many years and did the whole cookies/temp files/adaware/defrag, etc. I think it could possibly be my BitTorrent software, so i'm going to avoid using that for the time being. Like i mentioned earlier, all of my other computers that are connected through the same router (wired and wireless) have not experienced any problems. Thanks!

there are alot of things you can try to fix this
open your browser
click tools-internet options-delete files-delete cookies
click start-run-type cmd-hit enter-type ipconfig /release-hit enter-type ipconfig /renew-hit enter
do a virus\spyware system scan
disconnect completely all the cables from the pc to the router and reconnect
you can uninstall and reinstall your NIC through device manager right click my computer-manage-click device manager-on the left side youll see network adapters-double click that-your NIC should show up under that-right click that-click uninstall-at the top of the chain youll see your computer name-right click that-click scan for hardware changes-the computer will do the rest (after this you may or may not have to do the ipconfig release\renew like i showed you earlier)
do a disk defragment-right click my computer-click manage-click
disk defragmenter-click defragment
do a check disk-click start-run-cmd-hit enter-type chkdsk /f /r-hit enter
the computer will say it cant do that now do you want to do it the next reboot-say yes-close that screen-reboot
let the pc do its thing
hope one of those helps
good luck

Not enough info. It could be the modem server is dropping the connection, it could be the router overheating, this is a complicated issue that needs alot of questions answered in order to resolve the problem. Have you downloaded and installed anything since you started noticing the problem?
