So I'm really good with using computers but I know nothing about the differences and qualities of them. I am changing a room in the house to my own office for work and I'd like to get a new computer. First off, is it true that laptops have a lot of problems? Secondly do you have any good recommendations for laptops or computers? What brands to look for? etc? thanks!

I think laptops run fine, but that's just me. I recomend Windows if you want something more complicated, but a mac if you want simple.

Get one of the Dell Desktops around $700-800, they will last and serve you well. and get the extended warranty plan, I did. My motherboard fried from a surge, I called Dell Support that Evening at 6:00 p.m. and the following morning around 9:30 a.m. the Dell Technician showed up with a new one, replaced it. and it works great.... Less than 24 Hours to replace a MotherBoard, Impressive Tech Support, and the $79 warranty extension saved my tail, and the MB did not cost a dime,. Good Luck

Build your own. Not only is it cheaper, but it's something you can say you did by yourself. Of course, an office computer will be cheap. The rest, however is up to you to research.

Rule number one

NEVER get a laptop unless you plan to travel with it.
