When i buy a new computer should i have a brand name hp or something like that or should i build a custom one from seperate parts. i plan on using it for games and would like it to not get outdated too fast. what would be best finacially. where and how do i build a custom computer.

I heard that Vista will need a little more power than XP from the CPU. I'm getting ready to purchase an AMD Athlon X2 4600 with 2GB Mushkin RAM and 250 GB Hard Drive. I plan on doing some video editing (think "Star Wars Kid" on EbaumsWorld.com), I also plan on running a few small applications at a time. Do you think my system will be able to handle stuff like this?

I asked this question awhile back about Mapquest.com, but no one seemed to know. I want to send an e-mail to a group with a link from Mapquest showing the end address and allowing people to put in their starting address. How do you do that?

Has anyone ever heard of other online retailers listing products on another site? Like paying for the listing on another site? Or do they JUST use affiliate programs, like is there any other way to go about reselling another persons product (completely legally and with their approval) on your own site?

Often times when I am on the computer, the mouse will freeze for a sec, it is usually worse and instead of freezing, it will click, move somewhere and scroll, and maybe click again all in half a second.
Sometimes it get's REALLY BAD and will continue clicking and flying at light speed all over the screen opening up stuff and x-ing out what I am doing. And twice tonight (a new record) I have had to restart the computer because it permanently froze into postition and wouldn't move.
My mouse is fully plugged in, the dust has been cleaned out many times, and this is really annoying when I am playing a video game and making me shoot teammates and getting shot.
Can anyone help?

I just got a new PC that shipped without an OS. I loaded in WinXP and upgraded to SP2. When I put in a disk, and try to run programs I get an error:

Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point Iniitialize CriticalSectign could not be loaded in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.DLL

It's odd because I booted from the CD drive and loaded Win XP with no problem. Now nothing wants to run. I tried a few different disks with the same result. The disk reads fine, and you can copy files to the harddrive from it. I was able to open IE and go online, upgrade the OS, everything but run programs from the CD.

Ug - please help. Let me know if you need further details.
