I've only been in it for a few days and I already feel the pressure of a college course final. If you have it, how are you handling it? Im only a sophmore, is it too soon?

Stick with it, it will be ok. Get the Barrons AP History book and really read it, it will help. Give the course a chance and it will start to click into place.

Is this your first AP class? AP World History was my first AP history class (taken also during my sophomore year), and I thought it was hard too. That might be a reason why it's difficult for you (if it's your first AP class, that is). Other than that, the only reason that I can think of is that it just covers a broad area of history. I mean, WORLD history? Yeah, that's a lot.

Surprisingly, my current history class (in college) is not at all as hard as AP. Maybe it's my teacher. I don't know.

Don't worry, though. You'll be fine! You probably just need to get into the groove of things. Make sure that you find out study habits that work. Good luck!

Technically, it's probably NOT too soon to be taking an AP course like world history. I took AP American History, and the pace was about double the pace of a normal class. Do yourself a favor and don't think about the final test yet. It's only September!

It's okay. I took in my freshman year. With all of the four AP history classed I took, (world, euro, us, and us gov.) I found out that just reading the book was all I needed to do. It also really depends on your teacher. If he/she is giving a lot more homework than just the reading, drop it. The first few weeks of my AP world class was also very hard for me.

One more thing. The Princeton review is by far the best study guide. For all AP classes as well.

There are AP World History prep books on Amazon and maybe in your local library.

You might check them out. They may make things easier.

Maybe they are trying to weed some people out and it'll get easier later. Did you fee differently about other advanced classes you were taking. Concentrate on the course content--listen take, take good notes, get a study buddy. Ease up on yourself a little. Make your decision when the drop date comes up depending on your GPA, etc.
