torrent file players? do they exist are torrent files able to work with windows media player or real player?

i have downloaded a few movies to my computer and also some music files but when i tried to open up my movie files on my windows media player or even my real player i can't open the files up is there a special player that i need to download for this.???

what is the file extension? If it's *.torrent, you didn't download the movie, just the file that tells the torrent client what to download. I'd be careful about talking about something like that on such an open form though the RIAA, MPAA and NSA could all VERY easily have Yahoo! accounts...
