I think you mean that you tried to install a sound card and need the drivers to make it work properly (or at all).

You did not give the model of the computer, sound card or the operating system, so your question is hard to answer specifically.

However, in general, here is how to find the drivers for your sound card:

1. Go to the sound card manufacturers site and download it there (there is normally a support/download link)

2. If the sound card came with a computer, go to the computer makes site and look there.

3. Search the web for the driver. Type the brand and model number into the Google search field along with the words "driver" and the operating system name. You will generally find several sites with the driver.

4. Go to a driver site (e.g. www.windrivers.com) and search there

Somtimes it's an easy fix to check the speakers. But, since the system is telling you that there is no DRIVER, you can get one.

Go to the Control panel, System Icon and then go to the Hardware Tab, Device Manager Button. You can possibly get the name of the sound card here.

Now, since Windows hasn't already installed a driver for this card, it could be that the card has gone back, and Windows is not able to figure out which card it it.

Open the case and visually inspect the card. (Or have a tech do it for you). Then go to the Manufacturer's website and down load the EXACT driver for the card you find. A tech can do this for you too. This should fix your problem. If it does not, then your card is bad. This is ok, too as a new card can be installed easily and usually comes with it's own installation disk.

You can't download a sound card, but you can download the drivers for it.

Go to My Computer, right click on it
Click on Properties, Hardware, Device Manager
Find Sound, Video, and Game Controller, expand it. Find your audio manufacturer there ( Could be Realtek, Creative labs, etc.) Right click on it. You can get a driver update from there with an Internet connection or your drivers CD.

You can also check your sound associations in Control Panel under Sounds and Audio Devices. Check around there for the properties and adjust as necessary.

Sometimes there is software that controls your audio that gives you the choice of sound between using speakers or headphones. If set on headphones the sound will be very weak if any at all coming out of the speakers.

I hope you find the problem and this helps to fix it.

Good luck.

You have to know the manufacturer name and model of sound card and download the driver from their website. Open the computer and look at the sound card , the information should be printed somewhere on it.
