Same thing was happening with my old PC, so i bought a new one.
It was fine for 3-4 months and now it's happening on this one too. I tried everything, system restore, complete virus scan with updated anti-virus, defrag, disk cleaner etc. Doesn't help.

Microsoft error reporting says "an unknown device driver" can be causing this, how can I solve this ?

Should I just completely re-format the hard-drive, my imp stuff is backed up on a firewire drive. If , so how should I go about this ?

Recently, I tried to download a free software from Yahoo China. I didn't get what i want but i got so many pop-up junk pages. They pop-up automaticly any time whithout permit. and my computer slows down even gets me off line. I tried Spaware and Registry Mechanic, and they are still there. Any one has good ideas to stop them totally?

Electronic engineers know about boolean, transistors, resistors logic and they had a language called basic that perhaps every word was a particular circuit inside the computer hardware ,registers, RAM, ROM all these things but today computers build more computers and the circuits are larger and larger, I think there is not enough intelligence in a human been to be able to follow the whole , so by speciallizing in a particular area they are able to explain and work with a software program, either animation, web art, or many others. So if you can not afford to go to a good teacher in a very expensive university all you can get is to become a user or otherwise in the middle of the web you are nothing being fired from every angle by all these companies trying to make billions from all the users although I had a good faith trying to learn and do something beautiful. So I thought that if I knew a program that I can let them know my creativity as well such as a tribial ring a star, etc.Thanks

When playing Medal of Honor Allied Assault, and Counter Strike Source, my comp will shut off in the middle of gameplay. All fans are working properly, and I took the side panel off of the comp for more ventilation. The comp was sitting on the carpet so i put it on top of some books. Is there a certain distance from the carpet that the comp needs to be? All drivers are updated. Also, if the auto shutdown due to temp is enabled should i turn it off?

I had Roxio Easy CD Creator on my computer. When I contracted a vicious virus, I had to take the PC to a computer store to have the virus removed. They backed up everything first. Now, I have the Roxio software in a back-up file, but I do not have the original disk. I am told I cannot retrieve the software from the back-up file and will have to purchase the software (again). If that's true, why did they bother to put it in a back-up file? This makes no sense to me.

i was useing my flash drive the other night and now i can not use it. when i put it in a usb port i hear it connect but when i look at the drive itself in my computer that drive says insert a disk and i know its in and i try to use the built in properties and it is showing that the device is full atleast by the gragh and it shows no free space the file system says 'RAW' and and when i try to use the fomat program that is on there it says windows was unable to format. is there some other way to clean this device or get it to work or is it fried, i hope not. oh yea i am useing Windows XP the flash drive is a 'PNY Attache 512mb' and i dont want to lose it. all the help would be helpful, thanks....jeff
