try to plug it to another computer... if it's has the same problem then you need to replace your flashdrive.

E A S Y !!.. assuming your computer is turned on and ready to go... insert your flash drive and it will say in the task bar that new hardware added... THEN go to START.. then to MY COMPUTER and when my computer window comes up, your flash drive will show up along with other things, i.e. my documents, DVD drives, etc etc.. right click on what is YOUR flash drive and in the selections that come up, format will be one of the selections and click on that... click FULL and away you go.. a sign will come up warning you that if you have anythilng on the drive, it will be erased.. click OK and it will take off and format itself.

jeff, To format it,please make sure to format it Fat32, nothing else, this way all pc's can read it without problems.

On the desktop, doubleclick "My Computer", rightclick on your flashdrive, click on Format, in "File System" select FAT or FAT32, under Format Options click "Quick Format" and click "Start".

Or, HP has a format-util, most likely it will work on any flashdrive.

Another one here: X-format

Check the website of that drive, they may have a format-util as well.
