I have a high-speed cable connection... usually the player works fine but now it is skipping all of a sudden.

get a faster internet connection.

streaming media normally skips because you're trying to stream information faster than your internet connection can handle.

hence it loads so much, plays it, then stops to load the next chunk.

and so on, and so on.

You are probably using dial-up and need a high-speed connection. Get a reliable high speed connection and your streaming radio should work just fine.

use a low bit-rate. the kbps it says is how many bits of data (music) is downloaded and played per second. if you have used the low one, ensure nothing else is using the internet at same time.
