1024 MB make up 1 GB. Due to the fact that computers are in binary, 1000 is not a power of 2. But 1024 (which is very close to 1000) IS a power of 2 (in fact, it's 2^10). So, technically, 1024 is the correct answer, but 1000 is a good approximation when you're working calculations in your head.

Just to add on to all the answers. MB (with capital B) means mega-byte. It's commonly used for information units or computer storage. The magnitude of increase is in thousand, therefor you get from: byte to kilo-byte to mega-byte to giga-byte. So, a giga-byte will be 1000 x more than a mega-byte.

On the other hand, Mb (with a small 'b') is mega-bits. It's commonly used to measure network speeds. Similarly, 1000 Mb is equal to 1 Gb. However, 1 byte is equal to 8 bits.
