Hook up your headphones to where you hook up your speakers. Be sure to turn down the volume in Windows then adjust it to where you want it after plugging in your headphones.

Look on the back of the compuer. There should be two or three small holes in a row. Take a flashlight and look to see which one has a small headphone sign above or below it. I can never remember which port is for headphones but I know it's the green one so that makes it easier to plug them in when I don't want to use the speakers. The three I have on my computer are green [speakers], pink [I have no idea what that symbol means] and blue [mic] but this can very from computer to computer.

On both laptops and PCs, there is a jack to hook headphones into. It will either say "phones" or have a little headphone icon. It is usually near the mic jack.

Look in the back of the PC. Follow the cord leading from the audio jack on the soundcard, that's where you can plug in your earphones. Better if you buy and extension for your earphones though. If you want to play a cd, just plug them into the front on your CD/DVD-ROm drive that you are playing the cd from if it has a jack to plugin to.
