I had Roxio Easy CD Creator on my computer. When I contracted a vicious virus, I had to take the PC to a computer store to have the virus removed. They backed up everything first. Now, I have the Roxio software in a back-up file, but I do not have the original disk. I am told I cannot retrieve the software from the back-up file and will have to purchase the software (again). If that's true, why did they bother to put it in a back-up file? This makes no sense to me.

No it's not true, contact Roxio, and supply them with the information they require and they will issue you the key. The backups are performed to save data, they should have restored it for you before you picked it up.... Demand your money back from them, it's not good business to leave a client hanging with this problem...

upload to the different afore pronounced recommendations: A firewall does not end malware. It purely stops unsolicited records packets (issues no longer asked by an internet browser, or application already at the back of the firewall). Unrequested packets are 'dropped' or blocked, exterior the firewall. Packet "contents" are no longer examined; purely the header. It does this by comparing the inbound packet header to that's outbound asset request table. If there's a experience of the fairly some information therein, then the packet asset is accepted interior. So that's no longer a count number of the iP purely; yet whether the packet develop into asked.
