But It really shouldn't because I just got this comp. I've downloaded alot of songs, around 800, Itunes and Limewire. I just Downloaded some Spyware and virus scan programs and not much else. How can it be down on virtual memory already?

I have an old (we're talking bought it in '98 and still runs on windows of that year) CPU that I don't need at all anymore. Everything else from it is gone, but I don't know how to get rid of the tower. I'm also afraid of someone else getting any personal information that could still be contained somewhere on the hard drive even though I have deleted (to the point of removed from the trash bin) all the files. Any tips? Where can I take it to get rid of it and how do I prevent anyone from getting any personal info?

My brother has used my computer to look at some web-sites that I DO NOT want my kids to be able to access, but anytime I hit the arrow on my internet explorer bar, those web addresses are listed there, I have tried high-lightening the address and right clicking the mouse, but it doesn't give me an option to delete....PLEASE HELP!! I used nero burning rom to burn an AVI format video. the video is 50minutes long and 254mb. the problem is the video wouldn't burn. it says it's done the job after about 30 secs but when I check the cd it's still blank. please help me. thanx

I've been told I have the new I.E bug and I'm working toward restoring my computer but I can't do it now, maybe in a few days. I know Viruses destroy your computer fast but what about Bugs? is Bug another word for virus? I'm not very computer savvy can someone explain?

Firefox is acting up. Every time I open it, it's generic and none of my settings (theme, etc.) are saved. I am going to delete firefox and reinstall to try and remedy, but before I do, I'd like to find and save my precious extensions so I put them back into the new (hopefully working) version of firefox.

My Brother just emailed me with this: He wanted to reformat the drives on his laptop. He backed-up all of his music/photo etc. files to an external drive, BUT left the external drive connected when he reformatted. The system, of course, with his blessing --- because he forgot to disconnect the drive -- reformatted ALL of the drives including the external one (This is how he explained it to me, so if something does not sound right, I won't be able to explain it). So the obvious question is: is he completely hosed, or can he unformat the drive somehow. In the old days, we used Norton Utilities for such a thing, but I have no idea what's out there at the moment and, therefore, have nothing to recommend to him. Thanks for reading this. Any constructive advice will be appreciated and passed on to my Bro. Regards.

I have two web pages at the same server. I can login into one but not the other. The login in page says ther is a problem with my id and pass word. Yet I contacted the server and they say m account is still there and I should be able to login in to it. I looked and I am spelling everything right. The web page server insists it is the server I signed on to the enternet with. How can my main server effect them. It's the web server that logs you in and out of your tools for your web page. How can my main server make it not recoghize my password and ID?
