Hi. I have Direcway from HughesNet. I use the the DW7000 receiver/modem thing. I am just wondering if this is considered a DSL link, T1, etc. We have a LAN line that connect from our computer to the receiver/modem thing, and a satilite dish outside. Can someone give me an idea what the speed is? Thanks!

Which would result in a longer backlight life: leave it on all day, or to turn the power saver mode to sleep the screen frequently... say on/off cycles 20 times in an 8 hour work day (with maybe only 1-2 hours of total on time). Basically, does cycling the backlight on and off reduce its life, and if I turn it on, is it bad to turn it off again quickly?

I just bought this computer and it got struck by lightning while i was away and it burned the motherboard and proccesr up so i just ordered a new one identical to it with everything the same so can i use this harddrive on my new computer as the main drive so it will start up and be pretty much the same computer as before or will i just have to put it in there and use it as a slave drive?

Sometime It Happens One After The Other & My Computer Freezes Then I Have To Restart It Or Shut It Down With the Power Button. Another Thing My System Resources Are Below 85% It Starts At 42% & Drops All Of A Sudden. I Really Dont Keep Alot Of Windows Open At One time The Most Is 4 Or 5. Most the Times It Drop All The Way To Zero & Shuts Down. If Anybody Know How to Fix This Problem Let Me Know. I Use Windows 98.

My problem is that now every two and ten minutes i get a pop up warning me that there is a potential problem and when i click it i get a advertisement for antispyware software. One website is antispywarebox.com and the other is http://antispynet.com/. I do not have any antivirus protection which is stupid and the only spyware remover i have is from the yahoo toolbar. i have a couple questions one i what is that problem called ,two if i purchase norton antivirus, will it remove the problem and run free and the last question is how can i fix that problem if antivirus wont work. Thank you very very much for any help in this problem

I recentley got cable internet service and it works well on my PC yet I can't get a connection on my 2nd PC. Both PCs run windows 2000. PC #2 gets an ip address but nothing else. I ran the Comcast software on it and says it can't find the cable modem. Any clue what the problem is? Thanks

I have a PC. The hard drive is four years old. It's in sleep mode, meaning all lights are orange--monitor and hard drive. I've tried turning it off and back on, rebooting it with a floppy, continuously pressing F8....nothing works. What can I do? My CD Rom drive doesn't work.
