There are two ways. It starts with highlighting your text with the left mouse button. Now, you can right click and get an option to "copy." Put it where you want it (document, email window, chat window) and left click again to "paste" ... or after highlighting text, go up to the edit window at the top of your computer and select copy... again, put the cursor where you wish to put the text, return to edit option... paste!!! That's all there is to it.

What the above people say is correct when you want to copy an e-mail communication out of the net (I do this and take it to my word processor to be pasted and saved.) BUT the trick works both ways. I frequently have to act in an advisory capacity in my e-mail communication. I will compose my response in word processor -- allowing me all the editing benifits thereof --- then cut and paste it back to the e-mail 'compose' form. and send.

ONE word of caution. When pasting to e-mail, the spaces between paragraphs will be removed. Add one extra line between paragraphs in the word processor. The e-mail will remove one, leave the other -- and you will be formatted properly.
send.

Click in the body of the email.
CTL+A (highlights all the text)
CTL+C (copies the body of the email)
Move to where you want to paste the text
CTL+V (pastes the text.)
