What you are getting is not a virus but rather adware. first get an anti-virus program, don't surf without one - and keep it up to date. then go to lavasoft.com and download adawareSe, go to spybot.com and download spybot search and destray (both free). Run them both. One of them (probably adaware) will get rid of that pop-up.

you have picked up spyware from a site somewhere. Never click pop ups when you don't know the origin.

When you clicked the first pop up you most likely installed the spyware and until you remove it, you will get that pop up.

Go to housecall antivirus for an online virus scan and removal. When it asks to ok install, just click yes. It wont install spyware it will install what it needs to scan and remove and probs.

It may or may not be able to remove it. Also head to CNET.com and download a trial software called SpySweeper by Webroot...can also get it at the company site. This will clean the comp.

At CNET, run a download search for free antivirus software if you dont want to pay for it...consider Zone Alarm as a firewall.

You have spyware or a problem in the same category. From my experience, using Microsoft Defender (or Antispyware) is the only real help. Other antispyware programs remove most spyware, but do not remove some of the most nasty kinds. And I have a feeling that yours is. Microsoft people seem to know in depth how spyware works and how to deal with it. MS Defender is definitely the best solution.

AVG free edition will work. Also if you are a Comcast user you can download McAfee for free. You need to know how to login to your Comcast account and once you know that you go to the Security link on the http://www.comcast.net home page and download McAfee. You'll then be required to setup a McAfee account.

As many will say though, Norton and McAfee is a memory hog.

For the spyware, I'd use Windows Defender.

You need to get something like Ad-aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) to remove the spyware. Other anti-spyware software is available and may be necessary if AA doesn't do the trick.

BTW, Norton AV won't fix your current problem, but it does deal with viruses and you should have that anyway.

Spyware is the Problem. No don't buy Norton, download the free AVG Anti-Virus, it's good. Get Adaware, and Spybot Search and Destroy, they will get it. And if you leave yourself open for this kind of thing it will find you. Practice Safe PC Practices...Run Spybot First, than after it finishes, Run Adaware, after it finishes then run AVG Anti-Virus....... Good Luck

hi, antispynet.com is a website with virus, it can hack your IE.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:

Best Wishes && Good Luck!

Don't get norton, its worse than a virus.

For now, get avast, its free and its pretty good. (avast.com)
install that and do a scan.

Then, get a trial version of Spy Sweeper from webroot.com and install and run that.

after this, you may have a working computer again.
