I got it for a 501c3 tax exempt charity organization for free, but the modem is PAINFULLY slow. I fix everything from Automotive Engine Rebuilds, to replacing breakers in the electrical Load Box, but cracking open a computer is new to me and selecting hardware is too. Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope!

You know how the user manual is built in?Well is there any way i could get a book to read my self to walk me through the prosess of learning how to use this better,such as downloading music,burning cd's,movies and all the things i can do?Beacause it's kind of hard form me to remember all the things without reffering back to the guides everytime i have a question.You no what i mean?

I'd like to know a good way to send a monthly newsletter out to as many people as I can. I've tried saving it as a PDF, but there is too many pictures and fonts in my letter to create a small file that can be sent by e-mail. I've tried scanning it and sending it as a JPEG... still too big if I have the resolution high enough to read it properly.
I don't know how to create my own web page (yet) or I'd post it on that.
Any suggestions for easy, cost efficient distribution yet still allowing me to keep the photos and fonts I've used?

I'm looking for a personal laptop/notebook, but I know little about computer hardware- could someone help me (as specifically as possible) find a good laptop/notebook? Links are great.

I am going to use it for:
- playing games
- surfing internet
- making and saving office documents (word, powerpoint, etc)

Here's what I want:
- as cheap as possible
- as fast as possible
- decent battery life
- capability to run windows
- capability to run games (such as the Sims)
- fairly portable, but weight isn't a big issue

i just cant do it anymore. my bf just went too far to see if i actually talk to anyone on here. he posed himself as another person looking for a pen pal, as a guy. and was messing with me the whole time. it hurts to know that he would go that far and not actaully trust me. i mean yea i talk to people. its not always guys. i mean if a guy is going to act perverted with me instead of friendly, like a pen pal then i wont talk. i want him to believe me so, what i am going to do to prove to him, that i do love him, and that i dont want him to get mad and leave, that i can stop talking to people, is that if anyone can tell me how, i will get rid of my yahoo accounts, IM, email, answers, all that stuff. how do i do it? i am going to make him believe me one way or another that he can trust me. if it means taking away something that i like. plus he says yahoo answers is a bad place anyway, and im not going to stay much longer so i dont piss him off anymore. so please everyone help me once more.

I was answering a question not 5 min ago and suddenly my toolbar -which was at the bottom of my screen is now at the top. I have absolutely no idea what I did, and I have no idea how to put it back. Just to be sure I'm using the right terminology here, the tool bar is the one that has
start>Yahoo answers>Norton Antivirus > 2 little computers that show my internet connection-my e-mail icon and the time.
How do I make it go back to the bottom of the screen? i'm not very computer savy

My adapter for our second computer died (pretty sure as we've tried everything to get that one on-line since Saturday). The wireless is in my son's room (yes, he's almost 18 so I don't need to be told my son doesn't need a computer in his room -- I know what happens here LOL). He's not home and I need to find out --- can I buy ANY adapter from a computer store? Will any adapter automatically read our wireless equipment? What would you suggest? I have perfect spelling but I often see other people get bashed over the littlest things on the Internet. Nitpicking things. Especially when one person disagrees with the other or is a fan of something that the offending person dislikes. It's kind of dumb, I have seen these exaggerated nitpickings a lot and it just makes both parties look foolish. Don'tcha agree? Or are you going to dissect my question thoroughly and point out the flaws, following it with a short answer including terms like "obviously" and "of course", then calling me a newb?

I swear, I witness this all the time on message boards.

Can someone see if I am on the computer. This is if they are on a different computer. Can they also see what websites I am on. I have firewall and norton virus I also have been using spybot. This person has said things to me after being on a certain site and I have not mentioned anything to them. Or I have noticed If computer has been on for a long time when I sign off they send me a message. It maybe nothing but was just curious. I do not want to know how to do this just wanting to know if this can be done? If so what can I do to prevent this. I also delete history daily and do disk clean up etc.

I got it in 2005 christmas and i lost the CD so when i got a new computer i coulndt install the software.
Any other ways to get the CD, or is there an online thing? Please help...
