You need a reboot disc for your system. I run a simple E-machine with Microsoft XP, so I got a reboot disc from E-machines called Symantec Ghost which wipes everything clean as a whistle, so I can start over. They key thing once you've got your system all cleaned out, is IMMEDIATELY put up your firewall, your anti-virus and anti-spyware software should be running at all times whenever you log in. Don't ever open "spam" in your e-mail. Run periodic system scans to see if anything is trying to come back in. Personally, I know it's a little more expensive than some providers, but all the stuff you'll need is free with AOL.(I'm sure some other providers do the same."
Sincerely, Eagle.

Virus scanning is best done on your own machine.
No online service can replace a local antivirus program.
You can get AVG Antivirus for free, and it does a sufficient job.
However, more likely you have spyware to deal with than virii.
Ad-Aware and Spybot are two freeware programs that can detect and eliminate a good amount of the spyware on your system.
On top of that, you should also refrain from installing software from unknown sources.
